The GIST-IKACS research group focuses con distributed complex system optimization. Our main current interest is intelligent vehicle routing. In this topic, we have several publications, project proposals and collaborations with international research groups, such as the Center for Green Computing at the Nagoya Institute of Technology in Japan, and the Center for Collective Intelligence at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA.

Collective Intelligence for Smart Traffic Routing
What we offer:
We have been working on nonlinear distributed optimization for about ten years, developing and enhancing collective intelligent algorithms to optimize complex systems. Our techniques can be used in a broad variety of applications, ranging from service personalization in smart environments to dynamic pricing in smart grid initiatives. We are particularly interested in the application of our techniques to vehicle traffic optimization. By applying these approaches to vehicle routing we can effectively reduce traffic congestion, pollution emissions and gas consumption. Although some successful research has been done on vehicle traffic optimization, a common problem of existing approaches is scalability. We address this problem by distributing the computing load among all vehicles.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for potential users of our techniques, for instance in vehicle industry companies, public administration or infrastructure managers. We would also be interested in potential partners for further research in public project calls (both national and european). Finally, we would also be interested in finding potential investors for the development of products related to our technologies.
