Company Profile:
The i2CAT Foundation is a center of research and innovation, which focuses its activities on the development of the future Internet, which aims to meet the following objectives:

- To promote and foster technological development in Catalonia. This development should be experimental and investigative in spirit.
- To promote advanced research into networks and broadband applications and to foster the use of these in Catalan society.
- To develop Internet technologies in Catalonia, particularly in terms of applications, services and advanced research in network technologies.
- To set up platforms for collaboration between the private sector and university research bodies.
- To promote collaboration with organisations and institutions that have similar aims.
- To set up collaboration networks with other, similar national and international research projects.
- To participate in European research projects.

The key of the model i2CAT consists in the collaboration among the Administration, the entrepreneurial sector and the academic world, establishing a Triple Helix's (Loet Leydesdorff) innovation model in the field of the Information and Communication Technologies.

Telemedicine B2B Platform. Integrated platform for videoconferencing, remote real-time image diagnosis and whiteboard for medical images sharing.

What we offer:
As a result of several R+D+i project developments, i2CAT has deployed different eHealth applications such as videoconferencing (ViewCat) or platforms for clinical diagnosis and radiological images sharing. Adding the know-how gained over years in terms of eHealth standards (HL7 and DICOM) to the already developed applications, the telemedicine offers the following features:
• Collaboration Tools: web videoconference, DICOM images sharing with whiteboard, online collaborative medical report generation
• Diagnosis Tools: real-time HD videostreaming with remote control (movement, zoom), video and image recording
• Interoperability: HL7 integration with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), integration with DICOM image repositories and Clinical Data Repositories.

Challenge
The main challenges of any public or private Health System are based on the continuous quality improving of the healthcare services while reducing the associated costs.
The ICT developments and applications can play a key role in order to enhance the healthcare service efficiency, allowing quick remote emergency diagnosis, real-time medical collaboration or online patient monitoring, thus performing time savings, better patient care, and reducing unnecessary transfers among hospitals.

Video IP System. Platform for efficient content management and publication

What we offer:
Video IP System is a ubiquitous system that allows any user to publish and control its own content.
The VIPS system is accessible from any user device: smart phone, tablet or laptop, and presents an intuitive and usable user interface, which allows content publishing into a display group with a simple drag & drop movement. All content can be published by VIPS as long as it is public and available.
This digital signage system uses wireless technology and a remote management service. It is also ready to be deployed as a Cloud Computing service.

Technology Description
Video IP System is based on the following features:
Playlist management: the management platform enables you to make your own content playlist ready to be published in your screen network, and thus, you are able to add new contents to your platform, sort the content you want to be displayed and schedule your publications.
Multiple publications: do you want your entire screen network to be in action? You can do it in just one click. The same way you create a playlist, you are able to create a display group. VIPS brings you the ability to publish the same content at the same time in any display group you define.
Self-display resource discovery: VIPS Self Discovery allows you to add new displays to your own screen infrastructure as easy as plugging into your network. Once your display system is switched on it is automatically registered to the VIPS Platform and ready to use.
Remote control: VIPS is available at any place you are. All you need to do is to log in the platform and start maintaining your publications, contents and screen network anywhere you are.

IP-AVMIXER. HD interactive real-time video broadcasting over IP

What we offer:
From the point of view of performance, the IP-AVMIXER system will achieve greater efficiency and flexibility in the process of creation, production and video production, enabling:

- create an environment of distributed audiovisual quality "broadcasting" fully interactive, thanks to the low-latency transport between geographically distributed infrastructures,
 

- break dependence with specific wiring system, allowing each IP network (rosette) of existing local infrastructure (LAN) can be suitable for the transmission and / or reception of audiovisual content, using a device available multiple interfaces and standard media formats (HD-SDI, SDI, composite Video and audio) which can connect both capture audiovisual equipment (video cameras, audio visual equipment, room miking, ...), display devices (projectors, screens display prior, ...) and conventional broadcasting equipment
 

- an embodiment / distributed generation, with a remote control on any audiovisual flow system from a user-friendly interface and intuitive, which allows multiple people may be engaged on different devices simultaneously,
 

- not only the possibility of switching between audiovisual content, but also to replicate (to be sent to multiple destinations, some of which could be to generate a disk copy) and incorporate basic features video mixer (insertion of logos, signs, etc),
